I think I can add some very pertinent advice to your travel safety post. Brook, no matter what anyone tells you, never ever go reef walking. It doesn't matter if the cool kids are doing it. Stay away from the reef.

(There are more where these came from. I'll post some others later. When you get done with your soul searching trip or whatever your callin this in a year or two, we're gonna split a P'zone like we used to do.)

Hey Brook

I was just thinking, since I posted a comment to your "Ignorance is Bliss" maybe ANYONE else out there who wants to travel to Australia should check out the top ten things to do!

The coast is practically built for backpackers with so many hostels and tours available, for someone who packs lightly you’ll definitely be able to get around!

If/When you do come to Australia here are the top 10 things you MUST see/do:

10. Eat a meat pie/kangaroo steak
9. Go to Coff’s harbour take the bush tour
8. Go to Hunter Valley take a wine 101
7. Go to Yamba and cliff dive/surf
6. Go hiking in the GC hinterlands
5. Hit up the GC and party like your in Miami
4. Sail the Whitsundays in Airlie Beach
3. Fraser Island, Moreton Island, Magnetic Island
2. Skydive over the reef, or get hired on a fishing boat or diving boat its a truly unique experience
1. Dive the Great Barrier REEF!

A lot of this stuff Jill and I did on our show http://www.jillandstaceydotheroo.com so anyone can watch it before you try it kinda deal!!

Hope we do meet soon!

Cheers!

admin on "Need ideas for Asia!"

Let me know your thoughts and ideas for Asian countries!
I already have some travel plans and events in mind, but I know I'm missing a lot of great things. What crazy, adventurous, weird, alternative, off-the-beaten-path things have you done or heard of in Asia?

Entering foreign gameshows and contests, climbing the tallest mountain in a country, living with some unusual alternative group, learning how to cook exotic foods, meeting a famous person that no one in North America has heard of...

Throw some ideas out that we can research, to really discover the ends of the earth.
Here are the specific places I'll be visiting in Asia, but all destinations are open. I'll go anywhere.

Japan, Korea, Philippines, Samoa, Singapore, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Macau, Cambodia, Mongolia

admin on "Website Revision Ideas?"

What would you like to see changed about the website?

Let me first say I really like the design and have gotten very, very good feedback. It is built to be easy on the eyes and not too busy. I never want one of those blogs with links all over the place and advertising banners on every edge. That said, I have some ideas that I think can add value to the website and increase readership (yes, this is a word, I just checked) without cluttering it too much.

-Allowing pictures, video and html coding in blog and forum comments.
-Links for each blog post to Digg and other websites to draw attention to a particular entry. I'm still unsure if the payoff here is actually worth putting those little icons after each post.

That's really it for now. Keep me updated on what you think of the website design and improvement ideas!

Brook, you certainly aren't in Mongolia anymore, right? Where are you? Somewhere without Internet, it appears.

Until you post, I think it's time for Brook Trivia! (Please, add your own!):

Brook smells like Beef Vegetable Soup.

I'm Brook. I was raised in Utah, and have lived in California, Texas, Louisiana, and Italy. I'm looking for new adventures, new ideas, and a new sense of freedom and independence. I might get back to "real life" one day, but for now I just want to see what the world is all about and share what I find.

What about you? What is your background? What are your interests? What is the coolest, most adventurous thing (let's keep it PG) you've done or wanted to do? If you had unlimited resources, what would you do with your time?

Brook,
During my 14 hours of driving over the Memorial Day Weekend®, I came up with a new idea for you:

I want you to take pictures of every roadside 'Historical Marker' that you can.

Some parts of the U.S. seem to have them every 2 miles. While most are fairly generic. I tend to think that you (because you're Brook) could find a few that are either odd or just interesting. I know that I (and probably most Americans) don't really pay attention to them the majority of time.

At the very least, it could provide a consistent stream of content for your site while you're traveling in the U.S. While you're overseas, running across similar items would potentially be both entertaining & enlightening.

Anybody else have other ideas for Brook?
