I have to give Target higher management some credit here. They have communicated with me and are engaged in the issue. Target’s Shreveport/Youree Drive staff was very pleasant with me when I asked to volunteer to clean the area. I want to make that clear, as I see this as a bigger issue beyond them. Let me also say that Target is the only store I know on Youree Drive (or anywhere in Shreveport) that has a conservation area.

Really, I see a couple problems with this whole thing. First, I think it’s disingenuous for most corporations to present themselves as conservationists, especially when their eco projects are so small in scale. Second, if they are “committed to preserving our natural habitat,” then do so by keeping it clean, at a minimum. I bet 15-20 minutes per week would do it.
