EoE Treasure Hunt: Louisiana Edition
27 May 2009 in GPS, Treasure HuntAll you need is in the picture. Find the decal, email me the code on it, and I’ll send details of your reward! Please remember to remove the decal when you find it. See this Geocaching Basics post for details and tips on what this is all about.
This is an easy one guys! All you have to do is plug the coordinates into your Car Navigation System, personal GPS device, or use Google Maps, then drive to the place. Future treasure hunts will involve challenges to figure out the coordinates or more difficulty to get to the location.
A reward has been secured by a local entertainment organization…more details to come.
If you have any questions or feel like sharing your treasure hunt research, leave a comment!

Now that a winner found the decal and won the two tickets to Sci-Port Center, I’ll tell you about the decal location.
I put the decal on an electrical meter at the Ralph A. Worley Observatory. Most folks in the SBA don’t even know there is an observatory here, so I thought it would be fun to tell them about it.
The observatory is used by LSUS and Centenary. See the Shreveport-Bossier Astronomical Society for more info.
Their next Star Party is June 20th, so go there for a novel experience that beats the movies! Tell them you heard about them on some obscure blog called Ends of Earth…then come back here and tell us how the party went!
